“It Saves Them from Just Guessing”: How One Michigan Teacher Is Using Instructron to Boost Student Confidence

In the ever-growing sea of edtech tools, it’s rare to find one that feels like it was actually built with real classrooms in mind. But when Beth Y., a 5th grade teacher in Wyandotte, Michigan, started using Instructron with a small group of her students, something clicked right away, for both her and the kids.

Beth didn’t need a training session or hours of PD to get started. Instructron’s onboarding takes minutes, and students can jump in immediately. That’s intentional. We believe tools should reduce friction, not add to it.

What stood out most to Beth was the impact Instructron had on student thinking. Too often, students who struggle with comprehension or feel unsure about a question will resort to wild guessing just to move on. Instructron changes that.

“It gives immediate feedback for kids who are stuck. It saves them from just guessing.”

That one simple shift—giving kids timely, constructive feedback in the moment—can change everything. Learning becomes less about being right or wrong and more about understanding the “why” behind an answer. For students who tend to disengage when work feels too hard, this kind of support helps build the confidence to keep going.

The feedback loop isn’t just helpful for students. It helps teachers, too. With instant insight into how students are thinking through questions, educators can step in more effectively and celebrate progress that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Beth also noted how much her students enjoy using the platform.

“The kids really enjoy interacting with the tool as they worked through questions.”

That matters. We designed Instructron to feel conversational, not robotic. When students interact with the AI, it feels more like a coach than a test grader. The tone and approach help them stay engaged and motivated.

Stories like Beth’s remind us why we do this work. Instructron is not just another edtech platform. It is a classroom partner that supports teachers, helps students grow, and makes instruction more responsive and effective.

We’re grateful to Beth and her students for testing Instructron and sharing their experience.
