Understanding Instructron's Privacy & Data Approach

Teachers often have questions about how educational technology handles student data, especially when AI is involved. Here's a quick overview of Instructron's approach to privacy and data security.

Minimal Student Data Collection

Instructron only collects a single Name/Nickname field for each student - no other personal information is needed. Teachers decide what goes in this field and can use first names, nicknames, or even anonymous codes if preferred.

How Our AI Coaching Protects Privacy

When students interact with our AI coach:

  • Student names are never sent to AI systems - only randomized IDs that can't identify anyone
  • Teachers have complete visibility into all AI conversations
  • Our AI stays focused on educational content only
  • All conversations are encrypted and securely stored

Teacher Control & Transparency

We believe teachers should have control over classroom technology:

  • Full access to review all student-AI interactions
  • Ability to see when and how students use the platform
  • Oversight of all learning activities

Educational Data Use

While we collect minimal personal information, we do collect detailed learning data (answers, attempts, time spent) to create better educational experiences. This data is:

  • Never sold to third parties
  • Never used for advertising purposes
  • Only used to improve educational features
  • Available for deletion upon school request
