Restorative Circle
A ready-to-use template for building classroom connection and reflection in just 5–10 minutes. Includes thoughtful prompts, circle norms, and flexible usage tips for daily or weekly SEL routines.

What is this?
This Restorative Circle Template offers a thoughtful and structured way to foster community, empathy, and student voice in your classroom. Designed for quick, meaningful conversations, each slide presents a single prompt intended to spark reflection, connection, and respectful dialogue. Whether part of a morning meeting, end-of-day reflection, or social-emotional learning block, circles can help students feel seen and heard.
How do I use it?
1. Open the presentation in Slideshow Mode to keep students focused on one question at a time. 2. Choose a prompt that fits your classroom goals or group mood. 3. Have students sit or stand in a circle to support equal participation. 4. Review circle norms before you begin (e.g., one voice at a time, active listening, participation is optional). 5. Use the prompt to guide discussion - either passing a talking piece or allowing popcorn-style sharing. 6. Close the circle with a positive or grounding question to transition back into learning smoothly.
Other tips?
- Keep sessions brief (5–10 minutes) to establish consistency and ease. - Use calming music or a talking piece to add structure and focus. - Let students help choose prompts to increase ownership and engagement. - Revisit questions later in the year to reflect on personal and class growth. - Perfect for SEL routines, mini community building, or class check-ins - especially during transitions, after breaks, or when classroom energy needs a reset.
